Medical Program

Our volunteers visit the communities in the municipality of San Miguel de Allende to identify those children in need of medical attention. These children are then asked to come to our offices along with their parents or guardians. Once in the PPN office, the medical needs of the child is determined and appointments set up with the appropiate medical specialists, if necessary. If needed, the family is given the financial support necessary for the child to receive the required services. This support includes medicines, consultations, surgeries, etc.

Throughout the years, Patronato Pro Niños has developed strong ties with a variety of government and private health agencies that respond to the needs of the children of the region. 

To Be Eligible, a Child Must:

  • Be in need of medical or dental assistance.
  • Be in a low-income category as established by the Patronato Pro Niños.
  • Be younger than 17 years of age.
  • Live in the municipality of San Miguel Allende.

Patronato Pro Niños de San Miguel de Allende, A. C. cannot help families receiving assistance from IMSS, ISSTE and/or from municipal, state or federal services.

If you know of any low-income child residing in the municipality of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato who needs medical or dental care, please refer him or her to our offices, or contact us directly so that we will be able to bring him or her the necessary assistance.

Financial Support

Patronato covers up to 100% of the medical expenses required to improve a child's health. This percentage is established according to the seriousness of the case or the results of a socioeconomic study of the family carried out by the Patronato Pro Niños staff. No child is ever turned away.

In addition, Patronato Pro Niños covers 100% of the transportation costs of a sick child and up to 50% of the transportation cost for one family member, if the health center where the child is sent is not in the municipality of San Miguel.
