Being a volunteer for Patronato Pro Niños is both easy and rewarding! And if you are interested in volunteering with us, we’d love to have you. There are several areas in which we need volunteers, but more specifically, if you are interested in being one of our volunteers who goes out into the country to find children in need of help, just let us know and we’ll connect you with the head of the “campo” volunteer group.
Our “campo” volunteers usually travel in pairs, with one member being capable of speaking sufficient Spanish so that he or she can communicate easily with the teachers at the various schools that they visit, as well as the children’s parents and other members of the community. The other team member usually provides the transportation in a vehicle that is able to traverse the rough rural roads.
Each team of “campo” volunteers is assigned a specific area within the municipality of San Miguel. Each team is asked to dedicate at least two mornings a month during the school year to visit their area. In this way, they become involved with these small communities and will enjoy some of the most memorable mornings they have had.
If you are interested in another type of volunteering with Patronato Pro Niños, just contact Lily in our office ( info@patronatoproninos.org ) and she can put you in touch with the appropriate person. Other types of volunteers include helping with our fundraising events, helping with our Prevention activities, as so forth.
